Historic Sites

Utah is an exciting place for history buffs, as its history is rich and unique. Though there are many historic sites in Utah, three of the top historic sites to visit are This is the Place Heritage Park, Golden Spike National Historic Site, and Alkali Ridge.

This is the Place Heritage Park

This is the Place Heritage Park gives visitors a view of what Utah was like during its early settlement days. It is an experience that is fun and educational, and features over 50 historic buildings to explore, including barns, chapels, stables, and cabins.



Golden Spike National Historic Site

Golden Spike National Historic Site highlights one of the most iconic events in the history of the United States- the completion of the Transcontinental Railroad, which occurred in Utah on May 10,1869. Relive this event through auto tours and reenactments of the two replicas of the steam locomotives, No. 199 and Jupiter on the tracks.

Alkali Ridge

This historic site contains the scattered remains of Puebloan architecture, which include multi-story rectangular rooms and pit dwellings.
